Siger bestaat uit Ward & Hartwin Dhoore die al zo’n vijftien jaar het podium delen. Aanvankelijk met broer Koen op draailier in Trio Dhoore. Sinds 2021 treden de broers Ward en Hartwin op als Siger waarin ze te horen zijn op diatonische accordeon en mandola, gitaar, synthesizer aangevuld met soundscapes.

Alle stukken zijn eigen composities met een hoog melodieus gehalte en worden bijzonder fraai gespeeld met veel aandacht voor intonatie en frasering. Deze twee musici creëren een heel eigen geluid waarbij ze, door het gebruik van open arrangementen, soms de stilte voor zich laten spreken. Hierdoor wordt de muziek fragiel en breekbaar. Terwijl verderop een stuk als Downhill Drifters je met een driekwartsmaat stuwend de berg af laveert, gevolgd door Mareel waarin fluweelzacht de bugel (soort trompet) van gastmuzikant Jeroen Geerinck te horen is, die ook verantwoordelijk is voor de opname.

When we Fly is een schitterend album met muzikale verhalen, geïnspireerd op de intrigerende mensen die de broers hebben ontmoet tijdens de tournees door Europa en Amerika. Deze verhalen worden live verteld en muzikaal ondersteund in een soort Instrumentale Vertelling. Een innemende reis die met hartstocht wordt gebracht.

The duo Siger transcends themselves with their new album When we fly.

Siger consists of Ward & Hartwin Dhoore who have been sharing the stage for about fifteen years. Initially with brother Koen on hurdy-gurdy in Trio Dhoore. Since 2021, the brothers Ward and Hartwin have been performing as Siger, in which they can be heard on diatonic accordion and mandola, guitar synthesizer supplemented with soundscapes.

All pieces are their own compositions with a high melodic content and are played very beautifully with a lot of attention to intonation and phrasing. These two musicians create a very unique sound where, through the use of open arrangements, they sometimes let the silence speak for itself. This makes the music really fragile. While later on the album a piece like Downhill Drifters pushes you down the mountain in three-quarter time, followed by Mareel in which the velvety soft played flugelhorn (a kind of trumpet) of guest musician Jeroen Geerinck can be heard, who is also responsible for the recording.

When we Fly is a beautiful album with musical stories, inspired by the intriguing people the brothers met during their tours through Europe and America. These stories are told live and musically presented in a kind of Instrumental Narrative. An endearing journey, performed with passion.
