Het Scaramuccia Ensemble brengt oud, onbekend werk van de 17de eeuwse componist Johann Georg Pisendel tot leven op hun fantastische album Neue Sonaten.

Johann Georg Pisendel werd eind 1687 geboren in Cadolzburg, bij Neurenberg (Duitsland) en was een tijdgenoot van Bach, Vivaldi en Telemann. Een begaafd violist die meer dan 1800 werken componeerde. Deze composities hebben jarenlang verborgen gelegen in de kelder van de Hofkerk in Dresden om ze te behoeden tegen de Pruisische oorlog. Eind 19de eeuw werden deze manuscripten (her)ontdekt en ondergebracht in Die Sächsische Landesbibliothek in Dresden. Vier sonates uit het repertoire van J. G. Pisendel worden nu schitterend uitgevoerd door het Scaramuccia Ensemble, dat bestaat uit violist Javier Lupiáñez, klaveciniste Patrícia Vintém en celliste Inés Salinas.

Het trio schittert in een doorleefde presentatie met een grote zeggingskracht. Zij ‘vertellen’ de muziek met verfijnde zorg en accuratesse. Met name het viool-touché zorgt voor een fluweelzacht timbre in de langzame delen waarin de tonen de lucht strelen, zacht verroeren en aanraken, terwijl dat in de snelle delen wordt ingeruild voor een ferme techniek, waarbij de viool-klanken met grote expressie worden voorgedragen en geponeerd. Deze speelwijzen worden fraai en krachtig ondersteund door het Basso Continuo van klavecimbel en cello, die een brede begeleiding vormen voor de viool. Het Scaramuccia Ensemble heeft een sterke en gedreven uitvoeringstechniek waardoor je de indruk krijgt dat je naar een klein kamerorkest luistert. Op Neue Sonaten staan 4 sonates voor trio-bezetting, met in het centrum van het album een Sonata for Harpsichord, een solo-sonate voor klavecimbel van een anonieme componist. Een uitvoering met een treffende dictie, prachtige muzikale frases, vol muzikale zinnen met verzorgde articulatie. Je wordt als luisteraar meegevoerd in een doorleefd muzikaal verhaal. Alle opnames op Neue Sonaten zijn wereldpremies, wat maar weer eens aangeeft hoe belangrijk het is dat musici op zoek blijven naar (de jarenlang) verborgen muzikale juweeltjes die nu eindelijk het klankuniversum mogen aanschouwen: waar wij als luisteraar dan weer van kunnen genieten!

The Scaramuccia Ensemble recorded unknown compositions by Johann Georg Pisendel for their fantastic album Neue Sonaten.

Johann Georg Pisendel was born in Cadolzburg near Neurenberg (Germany) at the end of 1687. He was a contemporary of Bach, Vivaldi and Telemann. A gifted violinist who composed more than 1800 works. These compositions have been hidden for years in the basement of the Hofkerk in Dresden to protect them against the Prussian war. At the end of the 19th century, these manuscripts were (re) discovered and saved in Die Sächsische Landesbibliothek in Dresden. Four sonatas from J. G. Pisendel’s repertoire are now beautifully performed by the Scaramuccia Ensemble, which consists of violinist Javier Lupiáñez, harpsichordist Patrícia Vintém and cellist Inés Salinas.

The trio shines in a lived presentation with great eloquence. They ’tell’ the music exquisite and with accuracy. The violin touch in the slow parts provides a velvety timbre, in which the tones caress, gently move and touch the air. In the fast parts this is exchanged for a firm technique, in which the violin sounds are presented with great expression and posited. He is very beautifully and powerfully accompanied by the Basso Continuo of harpsichord and cello, which forms a broad accompaniment for the violin. The Scaramuccia Ensemble has a strong and driven performance technique that gives you the impression that you are listening to a small chamber orchestra. The album Neue Sonaten contains 4 sonatas for trio, with in the center of the album a Sonata for Harpsichord, a solo harpsichord sonata written by an anonymous composer. A performance with a striking diction, beautiful musical phrases, full of fine sentences played with careful articulation. As a listener you are carried away in a lively musical (hi)story. All the music on Neue Sonaten are world premiere recordings, which once again shows how important it is that musicians continue to look for the hidden musical gems.
