Der habile Violiste is de titel van het nieuwe album van ensemble Furor Musicus van violiste Antoinette Lohmann. Zelden een CD gehoord waar de liefde voor de muziek zo vanaf spat. Waar je de toewijding zo warm voelt resoneren tussen de noten. Fantastische CD!

Op dit wonderschone album vinden we muziek van Johann Fischer (1646-1716). Een Duitse componist die de zoon was van de stadsmuzikant Jonas Fischer, van wie hij ook zijn eerste muziekonderricht kreeg. Hij studeerde in Stuttgart en werkte een aantal jaren later in Parijs als muziek-kopiist bij Jean Baptist Lully. Barokvioliste Antoinette Lohmann ging op zoek naar muziek van deze onbekende barok-componist. Zij stelde een collectie samen van zijn werken, die ze nu met haar ensemble Furor Musicus ten gehore brengt op Der habile Violiste. Heerlijk om een violiste te horen die in haar spel spaarzaam is met vibrato en de muziek voor zich laat spreken. De composities zijn van een alledaagse schoonheid en worden gespeeld in sublieme uitvoeringen. De subtiliteit, het gebruik van versieringen en het spel-touché, het is allemaal van een lieflijke schoonheid zoals je die niet zo vaak tegenkomt in Barokmuziek. De klanken strelen de lucht, stijgen op in een ongrijpbare affectie en vleien zich in je oor. Johann Fischer componeerde een aantal suites (een collectie dansen) die ook op deze CD te horen zijn. Zoals het Baletta a 4, Suite à violen piccolo solo en Das Eins-Dreij und Dreij Eins. In deze suites vloeit de ene dans voort uit de andere. Zo hoor je eigenlijk één grote dans met verschillende tempi. Bijzonder fraai is het lied Mein G’müt ist mir verwirret van Hans Leo Hassler (1564-1612) dat Johann Fischer bewerkte in het instrumentale Hertzlich that much verlangen. Een schitterende melodie die we ook bij Bach’s Matthäus Passion tegenkomen (weliswaar in een 4-tels maat). Op Der habile Violiste staan twee composities die ook worden uitgevoerd door Furor Agraricus (foto). Een kwintet waarin o.a. de zither, klompvedel en kistgitaar te horen zijn en moeiteloos de uitvoering overnemen. Er klinkt dan opeens een heel ander timbre. Dat is niet alleen verrassend maar laat ook horen hoe fraai deze stukken aansluiten bij volksmuziek, een combinatie waar Antoinette Lohmann steeds naar op zoek is.

Der habile Violiste is the title of the new album of ensemble Furor Musicus by violinist Antoinette Lohmann. Rarely heard a CD played with so much love for the music. Where you feel the musical dedication resonate between notes so warmly. Fantastic CD!

On this wonderful album we find music by Johann Fischer (1646-1716). A German composer who was the son of the town musician Jonas Fischer, from whom he also received his first music lessons. He studied in Stuttgart. A few years later he worked in Paris and was music copyist with Jean Baptist Lully. Baroque violinist Antoinette Lohman went in search of music by this unknown Baroque composer and put together a collection of pieces. With her ensemble Furor Musicus she recorded the album Der habile Violiste. Wonderful to hear a violinist who is sparingly with vibrato in her playing and who lets the music speak for itself. The compositions are of an everyday beauty, in a sublime performance. The subtlety, the use of ornaments and the touché of the violin, it is all of a lovely beauty not so often encountered in Baroque music. The sounds touches the air, rise in an elusive affection and flatter in your ear. Johann Fischer composed a number of suites (a collection of dances) that are also played on this CD. Such as the Baletta a 4, Suite à violins piccolo solo and Das Eins-Dreij und Dreij Eins, where one dance flows from one to the other. So you actually, you hear one big dance with different tempos. Particularly beautiful is the song Mein G’müt ist mir Verwirret by Hans Leo Hassler (1564-1612), which Johann Fischer adapted in the instrumental Hertzlich That Much Desire. A beautiful melody that we also encounter in Bach’s Matthäus Passion (but in a 4-beat). Der habile Violiste also features two compositions that are performed by Furor Agraricus (foto). A quintet in which, among other things, the zither, wooden shoe and box guitar can be heard. Furor Agraricus effortlessly takes over the performance. Then suddenly a completely different timbre appears. This is not only surprising, but also shows how beautifully these pieces connect with folk music, a combination that Antoinette Lohmann is always looking for.
