‘Prismes’ is het derde album dat het Parijse Peppermoon uitbrengt onder hun eigen naam. Charmante muziek, gebracht in sobere bezetting die in allerlei kleuren een onderhuidse tinteling oplevert. De hese fluisterstem stem van Iris Koshlev is het watermerk van dit duo dat hun inspiratie haalt uit akoestische folk aangevuld met rock en pop.

Peppermoon bestaat uit zangeres Iris Koshlev (foto) en Pierre Faa die keyboard speelt en alle stukken schrijft. De muziek is fris en speels. Met gebruik van drum(computer & effecten), dunne orgelsounds, würlitzer, (kleine) snaarinstrumenten creëert het duo een heel eigen klankwereld die hinkt op pop en folk. Zeker niet in de laatste plaats door Iris Koshlev die met een onbevangen (bijna kinderlijke) stemkleur een warme intense uitstraling heeft. Franstalige fluisterzang, ietwat nasaal, laconiek en vooral in combinatie met de begeleiding heel persoonlijk en bijzonder fraai. Melodieën zijn niet wereldschokkend, maar bevatten wel opmerkelijke akkoord progressies. Bovendien zijn ze sober en helder gearrangeerd waardoor Peppermoon herkenbaar en origineel is. Prachtig zijn bijvoorbeeld het draai-orgelende ‘Arc-en-cielesque’ en het twinkelende ‘Faire avec_‘. Het duo wordt bijgestaan door een aantal gastmusici op harp, cello en gitaar. De groep wordt in 2006 opgericht en heeft met hun debuut-cd ‘Nos Ballades‘ (2009) meer succes in Azië dan in eigen land. Dat resulteert in een samenwerking met de Koreaanse zangeres Siwa en het album ‘Skyside Melodies’. Ze maken een tournee door Japan, Korea en China en er volgen nog twee cd’s: ‘Les Moissons d’ambre‘ en het prachtige ‘Prismes’ uit 2014.

‘Prismes’ is the thirth album of the Paris based band Peppermoon, released under their own name. Charming music, sober performed in a spectrum of lovely musical colours. The hoarse and whispering voice of Iris Koshlev is the watermark of this duo, inspired by acoustic folk with pop and rock.

Peppermoon is singer Iris Koshlev and Pierre Faa who plays keyboards and write all the music. The band use drums (computer & effects), thin organ sounds, würlitzer, (small) string instruments and create their own special world-of-sound in a pop and folk environment. Exciting is the voice of Iris Koshlev who sings frankly, kind and warm. French whispering voice, a little nasal, laconic and lovely in combination with the accompany. Very personal and fine. Melodies are not earth-shattering, but sometimes have a remarkable chord progression. They are sober arranged that makes the music recognizable and original. Beautiful is the hurdy-gurdy feel in ‘Arc-en-cielesque’ and the twinkling ‘Faire avec_‘. The group is assisted by guest musicians on harp, cello and guitar. Established in 2006 Peppermoon released their début ‘Nos Ballades‘ in 2009. An album which was more successfull in Asia than in their own country. A corporation was formed with Korean singer Siwa and the album ‘Skyside Melodies’ was released. The band toured in Japan, Korea and China and two more albums came out: ‘Les Moissons d’ambre‘ and the beautiful ‘Prismes’ in 2014.
